Kona, Hawaii

I recently visited the big island of Hawai’i on the Kona side.  The big island, as it is commonly called, is actually named Hawai’i.  The island is split into 2 sides by the volcanoe in the middle of the land mass, Kona and Hilo.  Both Kona and Hilo are actually the main towns on either side of the island and each have their own airport to fly into.  Of course you can drive from one side of the island to the other in just a couple of hours.

I actually stayed in the town of Waikoloa at the Bay Resort on the Hilton property approx. 30 miles north of the Kona airport.  ALL I can say is that it is beautiful.  The weather during the week I was there was approx 80 degrees farenheit for a high and 70 degrees for a low.  Now how much better can you get than that ?

If you are looking for a place to go to enjoy the island experience, go to the big island and stay on the Kona side.  You will not be disappointed unless you already live on an island paradise.
